Housed within the tough exterior of the Grand Seiko Sport Collection GMT watch is Calibre 9S86 automatic winding movement, an in-house high specification movement that delivers the same 55 hour power reserve as the Japanese watch manufacturer’s core Caliber 9S85 but with an additional GMT complication. Working alongside the high-tech 24-hour scale ceramic bezel, dressed in blue and white for day and night indicator, the GMT hand allows international travellers to ensure the accuracy of the time shown is not compromised when the time zone is changed. Alongside a remarkable accuracy of 5 to -3 seconds per day and 37 jewels, the movement delivers central hands for hours, minutes and seconds and a box shaped date window at 4 o’clock. For optimal legibility of the time, the hands, indexes and bezel are highlighted in glow in the dark Lumibrite.
